WABASH – Lakeland Christian boys soccer dropped its opening match of the sectional tournament to Wabash Wednesday, falling 5-0. The Cougars finish their season with a 5-10 record.

Wabash scored the first goal of the game in the 13th minute. The Apaches would score another goal in the final minute of the first half, taking a 2-0 lead into halftime.

“The turning point in this game was giving up that goal with just seconds remaining,” LCA head coach Dan Miller said.

Wabash would score three more goals in the second half, finishing off the blowout.

“We changed our formation to try and put more pressure on their backline. Credit to them for handling our pressure and making the most of their opportunities,” Miller said.

This was the final game for three Cougar seniors, Landen Bremer, Trey Avey and Peter Koller.

“Those three guys improved as soccer players and as young men over their time on our program. They will be sorely missed next season,” Miller said.
