WINONA LAKE – The Lakeland Christian Academy Cougars hosted Lakewood Park Christian in a battle of high school boys basketball teams looking to end their respective losing streaks Thursday evening.

Lakewood Park got the better of the hosts, as the Panthers snapped their five-game skid with a 68-56 win over LCA.

Lakewood park improved to 4-11 on the season, while the Cougars fell to 7-11 with their fourth straight loss.

Josh McDaniel scored a team-high 24 points for LCA and set a school record with his 54th made three-pointer this season.

Jake Harmon and Landon Twombly tallied 18 and 10 points, respectively, in the loss.

Carter Gonzalez led the Panthers with a game-high 26 points, while teammate Isaac Schlotterbeck chipped in with 21 points.

The Cougars are in action again Saturday when they host Fort Wayne Smith Academy.
