County Jail


The following people were preliminarily charged and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail:

• 12:21 a.m. Monday – Daniel J. Miller, 25, of 203 E. Fourth St., Pierceton, arrested for misdemeanor battery causing bodily injury. Bond: $600.

• 12:07 p.m. Monday – Michael A. Galloway, 24, of 15 E. Main St., Silver Lake, arrested for felony failure to appear and on a warrant in a civil matter. Bond: $3,300.

• 1:35 p.m. Monday – Timothy F. Howard, 34, of 314 N. West St., Warsaw, arrested for misdemeanor failure to appear. No bond listed.

• 2:34 p.m. Monday – Mark D. Walter, 52, of 112 S. Scott St., Warsaw, arrested for operating a motor vehicle while being a lifetime habitual traffic violator. Bond: $5,250.

• 5:29 p.m. Monday – Maudie M. Roberts, 37, of 8280 E. U.S. 30, #31, Pierceton, arrested for four misdemeanor failure to appear charges. Bond: $981.44.

• 10:04 p.m. Monday – Mindy M. Ruiz, 37, of 911 S. CR 900E, Pierceton, arrested for shoplifting. Bond: $600.

Personal Injury


• 9:20 p.m. Monday – North Syracuse Webster Road, 1,000 feet west of North CR 700E, North Webster. Car hit deer. Driver: Raele H. Hoffhein, 18, North Syracuse-Webster Road, Syracuse. Injuries: Hoffhein complained of head pain and was treated on the scene by medics. Damage: $2,500-$5,000. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated.

Property Damage


• 8:06 a.m. Monday – South Columbia Street, 200 feet south of West Jefferson Street, Warsaw. Car-utility truck collision. Drivers: Eswara S. Maddue, 27, Kinney Drive, Warsaw; Brandon L. Newcomer, 32, North Franklin Street, Mentone. Damage: $2,500-$5,000. Warsaw Police Department investigated.

• 2:03 a.m. Tuesday – Intersection of South Ind. 25 and South CR 700W, Mentone. SUV hit deer. Driver: Lindsay H. Utter, 28, North CR 825E, Mentone. Damage: $2,500-$5,000. KCSO.


• 9:11 a.m. Monday – An employee of World Compassion Network in the 700 block of West CR 400N, Warsaw, reported damage to a work truck. Value: $15,000. KCSO.

• 10:06 a.m. Monday – A woman reported her cellphone was stolen in the 2500 block of East U.S. 30, Warsaw. Value: $1,000. KCSO.

• 11:30 a.m. Monday – A man told police his wallet was stolen from his vehicle in the 300 block of West Market Street and contained $700. WPD.

• 2:47 p.m. Monday – A woman told police her license plate was stolen in the 1300 block of West Dogwood Street, Warsaw. Value: $100. KCSO.

• 8:50 p.m. Monday – A man told police his license plate was stolen in the 200 block of South Cleveland Street, Warsaw. Value: $100. WPD.

• 9:15 p.m. Monday – An employee of Walmart in the 2500 block of Walton Boulevard, Warsaw, told police merchandise was taken from the store, resulting in the arrest of an individual. Value: $49.51. WPD.
