The Town and Country Garden Club of Warsaw introduced the Green Thumb Award program.

The goal of the award is to recognize lawn and gardens in Kosciusko County that have been curated by the resident without the aid of a professional service. The designer of the award is Erica Leigh Design.

Properties should display pride of ownership, creativity and overall curb appeal. Each club member is encouraged to nominate an area property.

The club piloted the program in 2022 and the following gardens were selected: Sara Davis, Bell Public Library, Mentone; Duane Huffer, Main Street, Warsaw; Connie Kaiser and Lisa Sands, Winona Lake; Ron and Vicky Scantlen, Southtown, Winona Lake; and Guy and Diane Shaw, Prairie Street, Warsaw.

The Town and Country Garden Club was founded in 1984 with the mission of promoting gardening endeavors in the community.

The annual plant sale will be May 13 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at a new location, Knights of Columbus Hall, 26 W. Bell Drive, Warsaw. Location is marked with a sign “KNOLL Club.”

A variety of perennial plants will be sold at remarkable prices.  They welcome craft and home business vendors.  The price per vendor table is $20.

If interested, email [email protected].

Profits from the annual plant sale will support several educational/garden pursuits in Kosciusko County.
