Between noon Thursday and noon Monday, the Kosciusko County Health Department received 47 new COVID-19 cases.

This gives Kosciusko County 501 positives and three deaths since March. Of those cases, 245 are recovered cases, 11 are hospitalized active cases and 245 are active cases, according to information provided Monday by the KCHD.

With 69 reported cases in week 26, that is down from 87 in week 25, 91 in week 24, 86 in week 23, but still more than the 50 in week 22 and 22 in week 21.

Anyone experiencing issues with an employer regarding COVID-19 diagnosis or exposure should contact the Kosciusko County Health Department. The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) on Monday announced that 312 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and private laboratories. That brings to 45,228 the total number of Indiana residents known to have the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s total.

Intensive care unit and ventilator capacity remains steady. As of Monday, more than 40% of ICU beds and nearly 84% of ventilators are available, according to the ISDH daily news release.

A total of 2,432 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of five over the previous day. Another 192 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by ISDH and occurred over multiple days.

As of Monday, 476,519 tests have been reported to ISDH, up from 470,535 on Sunday.

ISDH is hosting free drive-thru clinics this week in Goshen and Elkhart. The details are:

• Elkhart, through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., North Side gymnasium, 300 Lawrence St.

The city of Warsaw and Kosciusko County government also are using funds from the CARES Act to provide drive-through testing for Kosciusko County residents. The testing is taking place at MedStat in Nappanee, Syracuse and Warsaw, and residents can register for it at medstatonline.com.
