A Craigville man was injured after a pickup and motorcycle collided Wednesday at the intersection of Silveus Crossing and Lake City Highway, Warsaw.

According to the Warsaw Police Department accident report, at 5:46 p.m. Wednesday, John S. Stull, 81, North CR 520W, Warsaw, was driving east in a 2001 Toyota pickup on Lake City Highway.

As Stull approached the intersection of Silveus Crossing and Lake City Highway, he entered the left turn lane.

Stull stated the traffic signal for the left lane was flashing yellow, indicating it was OK to turn if the opposite side of traffic was clear to do so.

Stull’s pickup collided with a 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by Philip R. Beer, 63, Craigville.

Stull told police, according to the accident report, he didn’t see Beer.

According to a witness, Beer had been driving west in the left lane on Lake City Highway. The witness saw Stull’s vehicle enter the left turn lane then proceed through the intersection simultaneously. The witness saw Stull’s vehicle hit Beer’s motorcycle.

Beer suffered multiple injuries from the accident and was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Fort Wayne.

Estimated damage was $10,000 to $25,000.
