At their recent investment advisory committee meeting, Kosciusko County Community Foundation presented Michael Bergen with an Outstanding Committee Member award for Bergen’s service on the Community Foundation’s Finance & Investment Committee since 2014.

Community Foundation CEO Stephanie Overbey said, “Mike’s voice is always practical and straightforward with respect to both investment and policy recommendations. We have never doubted that his opinions have been shared in the best interests of the Community Foundation and its donors and grant beneficiaries … we consider him a friend, confidante and champion of the Community Foundation.”

Bergen is a partner and financial consultant with Alderfer Bergen & Co Retirement Planning, a financial firm established in 1999 and located in Warsaw. He handles investment management for Alderfer Bergen & Co including customized portfolio design, implementation and monitoring. Bergen received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Indiana University.

In addition to his service with Kosciusko County Community Foundation, he serves on the boards of Kosciusko County Home Care & Hospice and Cardinal Services. He’s also active in Boy Scouts and is a member of Warsaw Kiwanis.

Kosciusko County Community Foundation Inc. is a public charity whose mission is to bring caring people and charitable endeavors together to inspire generosity and strengthen communities, according to a news release from the Community Foundation.

The Community Foundation grants about $3 million annually in the areas of education, health, arts and culture, recreation, civic projects, environment and human services.
