FORT?WAYNE — A weekend of free concerts by Christian artists is planned Oct. 6-8.

The Greater Fort Wayne Celebration with Will Graham is coming to the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum – Expo Center.   

Performers will include Aaron Shust, who received the 2007 Dove Awards for New Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year and Song of the Year (for “My Savior, My God”); and Phil Wickham, whose song “This is Amazing Grace” claimed the top spot on Billboard’s National Christian Audience Chart for 13 consecutive weeks and was named the top Christian Airplay Song on Billboard’s 2014 year-end charts.  

Other performers include The Afters, Dove Award winners for New Artist of the Year in 2006 and Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year (“Never Going Back to OK”) in 2009; and Jimi Cravity, whose EP titled “Heaven” reached No. 15 on Billboard’s Christian chart this year.

In addition to live music, the celebration will feature messages from Graham, an evangelist and the grandson of Billy Graham.

Volunteers representing approximately 150 churches from across the region are working together to host the event.

A special program for children and families is planned  Oct. 7. KidzFest kicks off at 9 a.m., featuring bounce houses, balloon artists and face painting. At 10:30 a.m., a live-action play called “The Greatest Journey” will feature local actors and a KidzChoir made up of area children.

All concerts are free, with seating on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors will open 60 minutes prior to the start of each concert.
