Whitko Students Compete In Welding Contest

On Saturday, the Whitko Career Academy welding students competed in the first annual Northern Indiana Welding Contest. The contest was hosted by the Warsaw Area Career Center.
Schools represented at the competition were Tippecanoe Valley, Warsaw, Wawasee, West Noble and Whitko, according to a news release from Whitko Community Schools.
Whitko students Dylan Cassidy, Kyle Jackson, Brayden Kirkdorffer and Jayce Lee competed in two of the three divisions. Students Brayden Kirkdorrfer and Jayce Lee ended up victorious in a weld off of a three-way tie in th VR division.
Coal Iron, G and G Hauling and Excavating, Morr Weld Inspection and Certification, Purity Cylinder Gases and Woodcock’s Welding supported the school in the competition.
