The Kosciusko County Saddle Club welcomes Dr. Stephanie Coats of the Milford Veterinary Clinic March 11.

The public is invited to attend the presentation on "Foaling Mares," which begins at 2 p.m. in the Munson Building at 216 N. Lake St. in Warsaw.

Following the business portion of the meeting, Coats will speak on what to do for your mare before and during foaling. You'll be able to tell if the birthing process is going OK or if you should call the vet. There will be a question and answer period. It is a good meeting to attend for horse owners expecting their first foal or their 10th foal.

Refreshments will be served. For more information, call Ann Perry, 574-594-2903.

The Kosciusko County Saddle Club started in 1991 and promotes equine activities. The club is open to anyone interested in horses, ponies, mules and donkeys. Horse ownership and county residency are not required for membership.

The members hold meetings each month which include speakers or demonstrations. They participate in area parades, camping trips, trail rides and training sessions.

Each year members hold a colt raffle and sponsor an open horse show. They offer equine rescue training for emergency services personnel.

Members are free to participate in one, some or all of the activities offered.

The club is associated with the Indiana Horse Council, Indiana Trailriders, the Kosciusko County Fair Association and participate in the 4-H Horse-O-Rama.
