A unique opportunity to learn about ways to get paid to put conservation practices on the land is coming to Teel's Family Restaurant March 7 at 9:30 a.m.

Come and enjoy an informal "Conservation Coffee," while meeting with other agricultural producers just prior to the hectic planting season. There will be a discussion about a variety of conservation incentive programs being offered to all producers and some opportunities for those with land in the Tippecanoe River watershed.

Coffee will be provided by the Soil and Water Conservation Districts of Kosciusko, Fulton and Marshall counties.

One of the programs to be discussed is the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program. CREP is a state funded program designed to augment the USDA's Conservation Reserve Program. It provides additional funds for enrollment in certain CRP practices as well as a 40 percent increase in the FSA's weighted soil rental rate.

Staff from The Nature Conservancy - Tippecanoe River Project will be presenting program opportunities offered through their organization that are beyond the government assistance programs.

For additional information, contact Brian Pyle at the Kosciusko County SWCD office at 574-267-7445, Ext.3.
