Burket Country Neighbors

BURKET - Burket Country Neighbors 4-H Club met Feb. 12 in the Burket Fire Station.

Nine members attended.

Flag pledges and the club creed were given by Amanda Seitner and Trevor Campbell. The secretary's report was given by Lindsay O'Hara. Jesse O'Hara gave the treasurer's report.

James Bradley gave a health and safety report about gun safety. Trevor Campbell and Lindsey O'Hara also gave demonstrations.

Business included the April 17 bake sale during the Burket Fireman's Fisy Fry; taking items to the Animal Welfare League March 17; the 4-H Fish Fry at the fairgrounds April 21. The club will trim shrubs at the Burket Fire Station during the May meeting, Enrollment deadline is March 1 for old members and May 15 for new members.

The members discussed rules abut the club achievement recognition contest and having a fall completion party.

The next meeting is March 12 in the Burket fire station.

Milford Successful 4-H'ers

MILFORD - The Milford Successful 4-H'ers met Feb. 12 in the Milford Community Building.

Club president Hollie Sharp called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Fred Hoyle and Hannah Tucker led the 4-H pledge. Roll call was answered with 10 members naming their favorite school subject.

Fred Hoyle read the minutes from the last meeting. The treasurer's report was given by Ian Donahoe. For devotions Fred Hoyle read Psalms 11.

Emma Donahoe gave a health and safety report about sledding safety. A demonstration was given by Ian Donahoe about computers.

For unfinished business enrollment forms are due March 1 for returning members and May 15 for new members.

It was agreed to meet at Camelot Lakes the following day to shovel driveways in hope of getting donations to cover expenses incurred by sponsoring a family at Christmas.

New business included information that club T-shirts will be for sale next meeting. If you want one, bring $8 to the next meeting.

Also, next meeting, instead of recreation, members will make Easter cards for U.S. Marines currently in Iraq. The next meeting is Monday, March 12 at 7 p.m. in the Milford Community Building.

Syracuse Community Hands

SYRACUSE - The Syracuse Community Hands 4-H Club met Feb. 18 in the community building. President Julie Crothers called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Heidi Kolberg and the 4-H pledge by Breanna Breske. Members responded to roll call by telling what they did on their snow days. Holly Kolberg gave the secretary's report; Jenny Crothers gave the treasurer's report. Skylar Herold gave a health and safety report about preventing forstbite.

In old business, members were reminded of the enrollment deadlines and other dates of importance.

New business included information about the Share-the-Fun contest. Members postponed rescheduling a date for the car wash until next month.

Brandi Smith gave a demonstration on making decorative serving utensils. For a club activity, Heidi Kolberg instructed the group in making posey pens. Refreshments were provided by Holly and Heidi Kolberg, Skylar Herold and Matt Meyerink.

The next meeting is March 18 in the community building.
