10 Years:
Lee Ann Stewart Dance Schools recently received four awards at the 2006 Chicago competition of Dance Olympus/Dance America. Three teachers, 21 students and a group of parents traveled to the convention. where students took classes in jazz, tap, lyrics, ballet, as well as competed in the regional convention. The tap group featured in "Mr. Pinstrip Suit" will go to national competition in Orlando, Florida.

25 Years:

The Court Appointed Special Advocate program for abused and neglected children is beginning in Kosciusko County. Board members are Sheila Burner, Altrusa board member, Anne Dorran, Altrusa president; Judge Robert Burner and Peg Shively. The local program was begun by the Altrusa Club of Warsaw; Peggy Shively of the Welfare Department and Judge Robert Burner. Volunteers for the program will be carefully screened and will attend more than 20 hours of training.

50 Years:

State Senator Robert Peterson, Rochester, will be the guest speaker at the meeting of Burket-Mentone Talma PTA scheduled April 13. He will speak about high school dropouts. He graduated from Talma High School and Purdue University School of Agriculture. 

Mary Barbara Immel and Sally Searfoss have been chosen as the top honor students of the Syracuse High School and will serve as the valedictorian and salutatorian of the graduating class of 1966.

75 Years:

Fine feminine candidates for queen of the Mentone egg show will be held April 16, 17 and 18 will be broadcast over WLS Chicago. The five girls representing egg shipping associations are Misses Ileen Sarber, Burket, Norma Bechtold, North Manchester, Betty Kinsey, Warsaw, Juanita Nelson, Mentone and Maxine Miller, Claypool.
