10 Years
Matthew Reinholt served as a Senate page for Senator Ryan Misher, Bremen, on March 8. Matthew is the son of Scott and Lisa Reinholt, Warsaw, and is a Lakeview Middle School seventh-grader. Allison Tucker, Kaity Smith and Brittany Skibowski served as pages for Senator Gary Dillon. Allison, an Edgewood Middle School seventh-grader, is the daughter of Scott and Wende Tucker, Warsaw. Kathy is the daughter of Billy and Chrissy Smith, Warsaw and Brittany is the daughter of Mark and Teri Skibowski, Warsaw, and are both seventh-graders at EMS.

25 Years

Residents of Pierceton accustomed to the continued contributions made by the Kiwanis Club will soon begin feeling a vacancy. The club closed its doors this week. It's now on the Kiwanis International inactive list. However, it can be resurrected within a year if residents supply the needed membership. The club was in existence for five years and will leave a hole in the community with its exit, club president Doris Ann Slaymaker said.

Warsaw Elks Lodge No. 802 recently installed officers for 1991. Officers include Jim Baker, exalter ruler. Other officers were Robert Huffer, Dan Cooper, And Farmer, Jay Warnacut, Rick Rick Shriver, Bruce Kenworthy, Baldemar Espinoza and Sam Sheneman.

50 Years

Avery Pat Garber, city park superintendent, announced on April 14 that the city has been presented $1,500 from George A. Nye, for a picnic shelter to be built at Nye Park (west of North Buffalo St.) in memory of his late wife, Gladys, who died Oct. 11, 1963. The shelter will be named the Gladys Ramsey Picnic Shelter. The boy or girl who captures the title will return the following Saturday, April 23, to face fifth-sixth grade division winner Kenneth Detwiler for the overall county crown and the right to advance later this spring to the Indiana regional spelldown in Fort Wayne. Young Detwiler, a Warsaw Washington School sixth grade pupil, won the fifth-sixth grade title on April 2. There were 24 competitors.

75 Years

Syracuse, Milford, Leesburg, and Silver Lake high school schools represented Kosciusko County when the cream and quality of students who survived preliminary mass examinations administered to 10,000 high school business education pupils all over Hossierdoom converged on the Ball State College campus at Muncie Friday for the 20th annual Indiana state commercial contest.
