The law firm of Valentine Miner & Lemon LLP publicly celebrated the opening of their new location at 523  S. Buffalo St., Warsaw. Representatives of the City of Warsaw, Lake City Bank, Warsaw/Kosciusko County Chamber of Commerce and others joined the firm for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Cub Scout Pack 3730 of Washington School held its annual cake auction at First United Methodist Church March 25. Each Cub Scout was to design and make his own cake. Judge Rae Hillard awarded prizes to the following:

Patriotism theme: Jason Cavinder; first, Scott More; second; and Christopher Breske, third; cartoon theme: Shaun Meeker; first: Jim Zachary; second, and Daniel Hogan, third; and scouting theme: Evan Mock; first, Eric Teune, second and Logan Reagan, third.

Plans for a 20-lot subdivision came to a screeching halt April 3 when the Kosciusko County Area Planners denied a rezoning position. The petition was made by David Pletcher for 15.25 acres to be rezoned from agricultural to residential. The property is located on the south side of CR 1200N, west of Syracuse-Webster Road.

50 Years

Tom White, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl White, North Webster, is spending his spring vacation from studies at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Nassau.

Tom left Indianapolis on April 7 and met five of his fellow classmates in Miami, Fla. They boarded a plane for Nassau, where they had chartered a yacht, two crewman and a cook for a week of deep sea fishing, diving and skiing. On his return to Indianapolis this weekend he will spend two days of orientation in preparation for his summer work in the heart research laboratory at the Indiana Medical Center.

Purdue University's freshman Betsy Dewart, daughter of Ralph Dewart, was a patient at Home hospital, Lafayette, recovering from an ear operation and appendectomy.

Pierceton continued its supremacy in the annual triangular track and field meet with Larwill and Chester by scoring its fourth consecutive victory in the classic.
