25 Years
Air Force Senior Airman Curt M. Walters, son of Mr. and Mrs. Todd Walters, Silver Lake, has been decorated with the Good Conduct Medal. He is a missile facilities specialist at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Mont., and a 1987 graduate of Warsaw Community High School.

    Workers for Richard Ness Excavating, Huntington, are continuing to clear a site for a new grocery store on the southwest corner of South Buffalo Street and Winona Avenue in Warsaw. A church and several homes have been removed, and workers are now concentrating on tearing down the old Murphy Medical Center building. Marsh Supermarkets will then begin construction of a new grocery store to replace the current store on East Market Street. Officials hope to open the new store by the winter of 1991.

50 Years
Grandpa Bosell is joining his daughter, Mrs. Lyle Williams, and his three grandchildren; Dale, 10, Karen, 7, and Diane, 4, at their favorite ice skating spot at Winona Lake in front of "Killarney Castle." Grandpa and Grandma Bosell, Salem, Ore., enjoy visiting their family. H.E. Bosell, 72, looks forward to being able to share his boyhood passion with his family.

    Plans were being made for the Pierceton Fair June 14-18. This year, there is a Centennial theme as the town was incorporated in 1866 (April 10). Brower Memorial Park is the site Feb. 5 for the kick-off of the program: the "razor burial" with band, and all pertinent paraphernalia relating to the growing of whiskers. Heading this program are Max Miller, John Norris and Rex Mast.

75 Years
Members of the local Kiwanis club observed the 26th anniversary of Kiwanis International Thursday noon, Jan. 23, at the Hotel Hays, with talks by I.E. Nelson, of Mentone, Thurl Pottenger, of Warsaw, and Dr. C.E. Thomas, of Leesburg. Blaine Mikesell, of Winona Lake, was program chairman. The Warsaw club has been organized for the past 20 years.

    Gus Chinworth Jr. and Robert Underhill, both of Warsaw, placed second and third respectively in the Manchester College oratorical contest held recently to determine the school's representative for the state contest next spring. Topics were "Curable Incurables" and "Union for Democracy."
