Sumralls Coming To River Worship Center

The River Worship Center will welcome pastors Steve and Diane Sumrall to the worship service at 10 a.m. Jan. 20.

Steve and Diane are senior pastors at Christ Chapel of South Bend. They are the directors of the international aid ministry Feeding the Nations and Provident Ministries.   

A freewill offering will be received during the service.

Ten Commandments Series Starts Sunday

SILVER LAKE — A teaching series on the Ten Commandments begins Sunday at Silver Lake Wesleyan Church.

The first week in the series, titled “Your God,” is designed to help understand the background and setting of the Commandments. Pastor Duane Seitz will teach with PowerPoint and will provide individual study notes so that all ages may benefit from the series.

“My goal is to get the family back to basic foundational, Bible truth,” Seitz said.

The series will be in the 10:30 a.m. worship service.

Ladies Bible Conference Jan. 19-20

PIERCETON — Bethel Baptist Church of Pierceton is planning a Bible conference for women Jan. 19-20.  

The video conference will feature messages and skits from the Revive17 Conference. The goal of the conference is to help women “make (God’s) love and truth visible, believable and beautiful to observers.”  

Sessions are from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Jan. 19 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 20. The conference will include the messages, skits, snacks, door prizes, lunch on Saturday and the book "Adorned." Cost is $20.

Baked Steak Dinner Planned Jan. 19

NORTH MANCHESTER — North Manchester United Methodist Church is planning a baked steak dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Jan. 19.

Cost for the dinner is $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 7-12. Carry-out will be available.

The church is at 306 E. Second St., North Manchester.



Community Meal Tuesday At Sacred Heart

A free community meal will be offered in the Sacred Heart Church gym from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The meal this month will feature pot roast, salad, dinner rolls, fresh fruit and desserts. It is provided and served by the Knights of Columbus, along with Sacred Heart parishioners.

Gospel Concert Sunday At Riverview

TIPPECANOE — Allegiance will give a gospel concert at 6 p.m. Sunday at ?Riverview Community Church.

Allegiance was nominated by Singing News magazine as one of the top 10 new trios and was nominated for the Sunrise Award (best new group) at the annual Diamond Awards. Their performances focus on “biblical lyrics and uplifing melodies.”

The trio, from Castalian Springs, Tenn., ministers via music, testimony and preaching approximately 200 days a year.

There is no admission charge for the concert, but a love offering will be collected for the group.

Financial Peace University Begins Jan. 21

Syracuse — The Syracuse Church of God will host the Financial Peace University course at 6 p.m. Sundays beginning Jan. 21.

The nine-week course is designed to teach individuals and families how to take control of their finances, plan for the future and be good stewards of their financial assets. It is open to the public.

Using materials developed by financial guru Dave Ramsey, course instructor Teri Kruger will teach participants how to plan, save and grow their money. They will learn how to create a practical budget, eliminate debt, be prepared for emergencies, protect against unnecessary expenditures, plan for college and retirement, and more.

The course costs $109 per individual or couple and includes classroom materials and access to online tools. Child care will be provided.
