Food Drive, Christmas Concert Saturday

A praise-athon food drive, along with a Christmas concert, is planned for 5 p.m. Saturday at Warsaw Family Worship Center.

Those who attend are asked to bring nonperishable food items for a local food pantry.

The concert, which will feature a local artist, will be in the church’s new community center. Joe Justice will be the master of ceremonies. Food will be served.

Classic Christmas Concert Planned Friday

HUNTINGTON — Multi-Dove and Grammy Award-winning recording artist David Phelps will perform a classic Christmas concert Friday at the Merillat Center for the Arts at Huntington University.

Phelps is the tenor for the Gaither Vocal Band and has been performing for more than two decades. His venues have included the White House, New York’s Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House in Australia.

This concert will feature many songs from Phelps’ “O Holy Night” recording, as well as the recently released “Freedom.”

Reserved-seating tickets are $18 and $25, and VIP tickets will cost $50. VIP tickets include dinner at 6 p.m. with Huntington’s president, Dr. Sherilyn Emberton; attendance at Phelps’ sound check; and a question-and-answer session prior to dinner.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.; doors open at 7.

Sermon Series: ‘Is Your Life Too Busy?’

Warsaw Missionary Church is presenting “Is Your Life Too Busy?” at 10 a.m. Sunday.

The message of the series is “Learn the true meaning of Christmas and change your life.”

‘Blue Christmas’ Service About Holiday Grief

Spiritual counselor Barb ?Jarboe will lead a “Blue Christmas” service at 7 p.m. Dec. 21.

Jarboe says some people find it difficult to be in a holiday mood or celebrate the birth of Christ because they’re grieving the loss of a loved one. The Blue Christmas service will be a time to remember loved ones who have died.

The half-hour service will be in the chapel of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, 424 W. Market St., Warsaw. It is sponsored by Kosciusko ?Home Care and Hospice.

Christmas Musical Sunday In Clunette

CLUNETTE — Clunette United Methodist Church is planning its annual Christmas musical from Brentwood Benson, titled "I'll Be Home for Christmas."

The musical will be at 7 p.m. Sunday. It will feature a 21-member choir, with narration by John Moorman. Linda Harding is the director. Three surprise numbers will open the event.

The church is at 4227 N. CR 600W, Clunette. Everyone is welcome.
