Claypool UMC To Hold Prayer For School
CLAYPOOL – Claypool United Methodist Church, 302 E. Section St., Claypool, will hold Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. and church services at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
Devotions are every Wednesday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Pastor Nelson’s sermon for Sunday is "Peace of God."
Prayer for Claypool Elementary School will be Wednesday from 6:35 to 7:15 p.m. People can meet in the parking lot. Everyone is welcome.
On Aug. 16, Gospel Hill Food Pantry in Silver Lake is open.
North Manchester UMC To Hold Dinner
NORTH MANCHESTER – North Manchester United Methodist Church, 306 E. Second St., North Manchester, will host a baked steak dinner on Aug. 14 from 4 p.m. until sold out.
The dinner is drive-through only.
The cost is a freewill donation.
Wheels On Fire Cancer Crusaders To Hold Event
AKRON – Wheels on Fire-Cancer Crusaders, a ministry of Beaver Dam United Methodist Church, will have its annual Smash Out Cancer event on Aug. 28 from 5 to 9:30 p.m. at the Akron Community Center.
Chad Patrick will have three-on-three basketball at Pike Memorial Park. Registration is at 3 p.m. with games starting at 4 p.m.
Entertainment kicks off at 5 p.m. with performances by Deb Collier’s School of Dance and several local singers.
Hamburgers/cheeseburgers, pork burgers, walking tacos, Butch's World-Famous hot dogs, chips, water, pop and Gatorade, as well as Igloo ice cream, will be available for purchase.
A silent auction will run from 5 to 7 p.m.
Pie auction will be from 8 to 9 p.m. followed by the "Light Up Your Life" ceremony to honor those who are battling cancer and remember those who have lost the fight.
