Literary Club Met
WINONA LAKE – The Winona Literary Club met Nov. 3 at Robin Hood Community Center in Grace Village. Fourteen members and two visitors met. There were two guest musicians: John and Cathy Miller.
John and Cathy Miller shared music vocally by Cathy and assisted by John on the guitar. They shared sacred songs, songs from childhood and songs through the years.
Judy Broderick brought two book reviews: “Giver of Stars” by JoJo Moyes and “The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek” by Kim Michelle Richardson. These two books were about the Kentucky Pack Horse librarians, which was part of the WPA work progress. These librarians restored attention to literacy, fixed and organized books. This was when there were few schools and no libraries.
The business meeting consisted of minutes, financial report, old and new business.
The next Literary Club meeting will be Wednesday, with presentation by Shannon Jenks, with Ryan’s Case for Smiles.
