Thursday Bridge Club Met

The Thursday Bridge Club met at Richard’s Restaurant with Ann Thallemer as hostess.

Winners were Carol Freeman, Betty Walston and Thallemer.



Last Monday Euchre Played

The Last Monday Euchre Club met at the Warsaw Senior Center Monday.

High winner was Toni Wilson, most lones was Charlene Witham and low was Sue Shively.  

The next meeting will be at 11 a.m. April 26 at the Warsaw Senior Center.



Daughters Of The American Revolution Met

The Agnes Pruyn Chapman  Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution met March 23 at Richard’s Restaurant with seven members and 10 guests present. Following lunch, Regent Kathy Gawthrop introduced the DAR essay local winners.

Gison Claxton, sixth grade, Lincoln School, was the winner of the American history contest. The subject was about the Boston Massacre during the American Revolution.

There were four local winners in the Good Citizen Essay contest. They were: Erica Warren, Tippecanoe Valley; Tucker Carlile, Warsaw Community School; Samantha Kolberg, Wawasee; Joy Hanes, Lakeland Christian School.  

These four seniors were selected as good citizens by either teachers or principals. Their essays were judged by non-members of DAR.  The essay of Joy Hanes was  chosen  the overall winner.  Her essay, as well as Gibsen Claxton, have been sent on to the DAR State committee for further judging. The subject for the essay was our American heritage and our responsibility for preserving it and a focus question, How do the combined actions of so many good citizens keep our nation forward.

Gawthrop then opened the business portion of the meeting by reading the President General's message, followed by the opening ritual.

Two new members, Connie Schlag and Janice Engleberth, were introduced, as well as prospective member Mary Hartle

The treasurer's report was given.

Paulene Holderman gave the National Defense report.  The article was that March 29 is National Vietnam War Veterans Day.

Gawthrop appointed a nominating committee of Ann Lohman, Millie Martin and Holderman.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
