Literary Club Met

WINONA LAKE – Winona Literary Club met Wednesday at Robin Hood Community Center.

Twenty members and three guests were present. The speaker was Don De Young, a professor from Grace. He shared seven treasures from the sea that are aiding us today.

A business meeting was conducted with minutes of last meeting, treasurer’s report and a couple ladies shared memories of two club members who recently died. Refreshments were served.

The next meeting will be March 16. Attendees will be entertained by students from the Warsaw Community High School band under direction of Mark Ziegler.



Lambda Sorority To Meet

Lambda Chi Omega Sorority will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, Warsaw.

Hostesses will be Peggy Campbell and Liz Surface.



Agnes Pruym Chapman Chapter Met

The Anges Pruym Chapman Chapter of the DAR met at noon at the Wyndman Hotel in Warsaw on Feb. 22.

Guests were the winners of the "Good Citizenship Essay Contest." Local winners were from Tippecanoe Valley,  Wawasee, Warsaw, Wabash and Lakeland Christian Academy. The local winner was Jessica Chapman, who attends Lakeland Christian Academy.

Susan Cramer called the meeting to order and led the opening rituals. There was no president's message or national defense report.

The secretary's report was read and approved and the treasurer’s report was given.

Linda Stroup agreed to be assistant secretary.

The next meeting will be at the Wyndman Hotel on April 26 at noon.



Last Monday Euchre Met

The Last Monday Euchre Club met at the Warsaw Senior Center on Monday.  

High winner was Arlene Brooke, most lones was Toni Wilson and low was Jane Eash.

The next meeting will be on March 28 at 11 a.m. at the Warsaw Senior Center.



Thursday Bridge Played

Thursday Bridge met at Maria’s Restaurant.

Winners were Sandy Mauk, Diane Huffer, Sondra Dickens and Nanette Newland
