Mike and Susie Sittler Johnston, of Winona Lake, will celebrate their 50th anniversary on June 12th.  

They were married June 12, 1971, at the Warsaw First United Methodist Church in Warsaw by Rev. Vergil Siberal.  Mike and Susie have had church membership in Warsaw, Claypool, Scottsburg, Seymour, Bell Point, Ohio, and South Bend.

Mike and Susie met at Warsaw Community High School coming from their home towns of Warsaw and Silver Lake, respectively.  Susie received higher education degrees from Purdue University, St. Mary of the Woods College and Ohio State University. Mike received a higher education degree from Indiana Institute of Technology.

In his career as a professional civil engineer, Mike’s work took them to Seymour, to Columbus, Ohio, and finally to South Bend.  

As a MSW, Susie worked with multiple different populations including those individuals who have developmental disabilities, those with mental health issues and senior citizens. Her work was served in many small and medium sized communities in northern and southern Indiana and central Ohio.

They have a daughter, Nicole; (Mike) Wallick, of Warsaw and a son, Matthew Johnston, of Indianapolis.  They have two grandchildren: Ian and Jillian Wallick, in Warsaw.

The Johnston’s will celebrate their anniversary at the Boathouse Restaurant in Winona Lake with family.
