NORTH WEBSTER - North Webster Town Council moved toward increasing the town's sewer rates at its monthly meeting Tuesday night.
In the meeting, which lasted about 10 minutes, the board moved toward holding a public meeting and then adopting new sewer rates at next month's meeting.

The proposed rate increase is 15 percent.

For a single resident, that would result in an increase of about $4.80 per month.

Leaf pickup for North Webster starts Monday and runs through Nov. 27.

Residents aren't required to bag the leaves but are asked to rake the leaves within four feet of the curb and not on the curb or street.

The council also approved the purchase of a new snow plow.

The town council's next meeting is Nov. 16 at 6 p.m. at the North Webster Community Center.

The council president is Jon Sroufe, while council members are Lisa Strombeck and Tim Hine.
