WINONA LAKE - Lakeland Christian Academy announced Jane Wildman as valedictorian and Keely King as salutatorian for the Class of 2008.

The faculty of Lakeland Christian also awards a Timothian award to the graduating senior who best exemplifies the spiritual exhortation found in I Timothy 4:12, which states: "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity." This award is being given to Wildman and Phillip Herbruck.

Wildman is graduating with a grade point average of 99.07 on a 100-point scale. She is the daughter of Ron and Sharon Wildman, Warsaw. She has been a member of the National Honor Society, and is currently the secretary. She was involved in Kosciusko Youth Leadership Academy. She attends Pleasant View Bible Church. She plans to attend Cedarville University in the fall with a major in elementary education.

King is the daughter of Jeff and Kim King, Warsaw. Keely is graduating with a grade point average of 98.37 on a 100-point scale. As salutatorian, she is a member of the National Honor Society, and has been on the all-A honor roll all four years of high school. She has been involved with Kosciusko Endowment Youth Services and was awarded the senior athlete award at Lakeland this year. She attends Warsaw Community Church. She will attend Indiana Wesleyan University in the fall to study psychology.

Herbruck is the son of Gary and Teresa Herbruck, Warsaw. He has attended Lakeland Christian for six years and has been in numerous school plays. He was named the outstanding senior in math and drama. He is the current senior class president and student body president. He attends Christ's Covenant Church. He will be attending Indiana Wesleyan University in the fall to study writing.
