Editor, Times-Union:

The 22nd Annual Kerlin Cares Coat Drive to benefit people in our community who are in need of warm winter wear was a huge success. We are so fortunate to live in a caring and giving community. Kerlin Motor Company Inc. in Silver Lake was the coat drive collection headquarters. There were 1,295 coats donated, and Combined Community Services and Kosciusko residents are very appreciative.

I want to publicly thank all of the co-sponsors: Times-Union for advertising, Kensington Digital Media for advertising, Wildman Business Group and Peerless Cleaners for cleaning all of the coats and our Kerlin staff for sorting and counting.

A sincere thank you to everyone who donated coats. I wanted to send a special thank you to the people who purchased new items and those who made scarves. It’s a wonderful feeling to know someone will stay warm this winter because we shared something as simple as a coat.
