Editor, Times-Union:
The Leesburg Candleria and Christmas Party may have lacked snow this year, but certainly provided a memorable evening filled with candles, cookies, cocoa, carols and Santa Claus.
Thank you to Maple Leaf Farms for their generous support of the event. Thank you to the Leesburg Mighty Farmers 4-H Club and the Leesburg Boy Scouts for help in lighting the 1,200 luminarias that shone so beautifully throughout the evening.
Thank you to Mike Beezley and Tim Sprankle for providing music that put everyone in the Christmas spirit. Thank you to the Leesburg Methodist Church ladies for providing delicious cookies for everyone’s enjoyment.    Thank you to Chester “Chet” Stump and the Plain Township Volunteer Fire Department for bringing the joy of Santa Claus to all the good boys and girls.
Special thanks to the families of Sue Charlton, Craig Charlton, Scott Charlton, Brandon Queen and Steve Allen for all their hard work in preparing the bags, lighting candles, and taking care of clean up.
Thanks also to Helen Smoker and Kay Pylant for their help with the refreshments at the town hall and to Louie Davis and John Snyder for the loan of their trailers.  Whether you took a picture with Santa or sang a Christmas carol or just turned out your car lights as you drove down the brick streets, we all hope you enjoyed this special night and had the best Christmas ever.
