A family of three made it safely out of a house fire late Wednesday night, but their home is a total loss.
Plain Township Fire Department Assistant Chief Derek Tenney said the call came in shortly before 11 p.m. Wednesday alerting the Leesburg firefighters that there was a fire at 340 E. Levi Lee Road, Warsaw, lot 76.

The single-wide mobile home was occupied by a man, his wife and a daughter, who Tenney said owned the trailer but rented the lot. The family saw smoke and fire while in the home and called it in. The fire started in the front bedroom, and Tenney said it appears to be accidental in nature, but is still under investigation. The fire was contained to the front half of the structure.
Tenney said the damage estimate looks to be a total loss for the family.
“All the occupants made it out. They had a little smoke inhalation but medics checked them out and they were cleared to go,” Tenney stated.
The American Red Cross was on scene to assist the family. Also on scene were Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory and Lutheran EMS. A total of 20 to 22 firefighters were on hand.
Firefighters were on scene until about 1:30 a.m.
