A total of six people were injured in Sunday’s two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Ind. 15 and West CR 250N, Warsaw.
According to the Warsaw Police Department accident report, the accident was the result of one of the drivers disregarding a red light.
Ambrotin J. Arnold, 20, East CR 400N, Warsaw, the driver of a gold 2013 Chrysler 200 car, advised police he was traveling east on Jalynn Street, crossing Ind. 15. He said he looked down and then all he remembers is getting hit. The Chrysler then proceeded down an embankment.
Arnold had no complaints of pain or injury.
The front-seat passenger of the Chrysler, Carmene Arnold, 19, Warsaw, was unconscious at the scene and was taken to Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne by EMS.
The car’s rear driver’s side passenger, Ronnie Mowery, 18, Fort Wayne, complained of pain to his chest and head. He was taken to Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital (LKH) by EMS.
The rear middle-seat passenger of the car, Jamiahis Arnold, 18, Warsaw, was incapacitated at the scene and was taken to Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne by EMS.
The rear passenger-side passenger of the car, Keontrae Ousley, 19, Warsaw, had a complaint of pain to his head, neck, right shoulder and right arm. He was taken to LKH by EMS.
The other vehicle involved in the accident was a white 2011 Chevrolet Traverse SUV, driven by Thomas A. Lyon, 31, Warsaw.
Lyon advised he was traveling north on Ind. 15, approaching the intersection of West CR 250N. He said he had a green light and was traveling approximately 45 mph. He stated the Chrysler disregarded a red light and entered the intersection. Lyon’s SUV was unable to avoid a collision and hit Arnold’s car.
Lyon complained of pain to his entire body and was taken to LKH by EMS. His sons, Cohen, 2, and Elijah Lyon, 4, Warsaw, were properly restrained and had no apparent injuries, the report states.
The front passenger of the Traverse, Monique D. Lyon, 30, Warsaw, had a possible break to her right ankle, cuts to her head and overall body pain, the accident report states.
All witnesses told police that the Traverse was northbound on Ind. 15 and the Chrysler disregarded a red light crossing in front of the Traverse, causing them to collide.
Both drivers were taken for a blood draw.
The Chrysler had damage to the entire passenger side of the vehicle. The Traverse had damage to the entire front of the vehicle and airbag deployment.
The estimate for all damage in the crash totaled $5,000 to $10,000, according to the report.
