Wawasee at Tippecanoe Valley

AKRON – Wawasee tennis picked up its first victory of the season in a closely contested non-conference match against Tippecanoe Valley. The Warriors came away with a 3-2 victory.

Wawasee hosts Lakeland Wednesday, while Tippecanoe Valley travels to North Judson Thursday.

Girls Soccer

Lakeland at Wawasee

SYRACUSE – Wawasee girls soccer opened up its season with a tie against Lakeland in a 1-1 game Monday. The Lady Warriors start the season at 0-0-1.

Mikilah Wiggs scored the lone Warrior goal off of an assist from Chloe Linder. Zaylee Guy played great defense in the game, coming away with eight steals. Josalyn Kolberg saved three of the four shots she saw in goal.

Next up for Wawasee is another non-conference match up with West Noble on the road Wednesday.

Manchester at Columbia City

COLUMBIA CITY – Manchester girls soccer opened up its season on the wrong side of a blowout, falling 5-0 to Columbia City on the road Monday. The Lady Squires are 0-1-0.

Grace Smith was very busy in goal, facing a total of 24 shots on target. The junior saved 19 of them. Manchester takes on Mississinewa on the road Wednesday.

Girls Golf

Warsaw/Goshen at Mishawaka

MISHAWAKA – Warsaw girls golf continued a strong start to its season by winning a three-way conference match against Goshen and Mishawaka at Eberhart golf course by shooting a 183 as a team. The Tigers are now 3-1 in match play, 2-0 in the Northern Lakes Conference.

A couple of familiar faces were at the top of the leader board for Warsaw again. Abbey Peterson led the team by shooting a 41, and was closely followed by Olivia Robinson-Gay who shot a 43.

The Tigers travel to Tippecanoe Valley for their next match Thursday.

Tippecanoe Valley/Bremen/LaVille at Plymouth

PLYMOUTH – Tippecanoe Valley girls golf came away victorious in a four-way match hosted by Plymouth Monday. The Lady Vikings paced the field by shooting 182 as a team to get the win.

Madelyn Weaver was the match-low medalist after shooting a 39 to lead all competitors. Coming in second place on the team was Kaydence Mellott with a 47.  

Tippecanoe Valley hosts Warsaw Thursday afternoon.

West Noble at Wawasee

SYRACUSE – Wawasee girls golf suffered its first loss of the season Monday at the hands of West Noble, dropping the match 208-212. The Warriors are now 1-1 this season, and will host Westview Thursday.
