Local High School Sports Recaps For 4/20

Baseball

Warsaw at Goshen

GOSHEN – Fans of Warsaw and Goshen will have to wait to determine a winner between the Tigers and RedHawks, as the game was postponed due to darkness.

The score was tied 3-3 going into the eighth inning, and the game will be completed when Goshen travels to Warsaw on Friday, May 6.

Mishawaka at Wawasee

SYRACUSE – Wawasee dropped a conference matchup with Mishawaka Wednesday, falling 14-4 in Northern Lakes Conference play. The Warriors are now 1-4 on the season, 0-2 in NLC competition.

Grant Brooks had two hits and drove in a run. Gavin Malone and Hunter Fiedeke both had a hit. Defense cost the Warriors in multiple spots, as several costly errors led to big innings.

Wawasee hosts NorthWood Friday night.

Tippecanoe Valley at Wabash

WABASH – Tippecanoe Valley suffered a tough loss to Wabash Wednesday, losing 4-3 after giving up two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. The Vikings are now 1-2 this spring.

Markus Bernicky pitched a solid five innings giving up two runs and striking out three. Annikan Pettit and Braxton Davis each had two hits, with Davis driving in two runs.

The Vikings play at Wawasee Saturday morning.



Softball

Tippecanoe Valley at Wabash

WABASH – Tippecanoe Valley won yet again on Wednesday, defeating Wabash 13-3 in five innings. The Lady Vikings are now 7-1 this spring, 1-0 in the Three Rivers Conference.

Brittany Benn had four hits in four at bats, and was clutch when coming up with runners in scoring position. Benn led all players with four RBIs. Corinna Stiles had four hits as well, two for extra bases including a home run and three runs batted in.

Tippy Valley faces off with Adams Central Saturday morning.
