The Lakeview 8th grade basketball team achieved a victory in their first home game of the season on Monday night versus Tippecanoe Valley. The final score was 33-27.

The Tigers were led by an offensive onslaught from Mydin Burgher, who scored 18 points in the victory. Noah Quance played a strong game inside scoring 5 points, securing 4 rebounds, and delivering a block.

Jordan Randall and Robbie Straughan set the tone for the Tigers on defense,  frustrating Valley's guards and generating multiple turnovers. Straughan scored his only 2 points of the game after generating a steal late and getting fouled on the ensuing drive to the basket. He then stepped to the line hitting both free throws to put the Tigers up. Randall scored 5 points on the game including the final two points from the free throw line to secure the victory. Also scoring for the Tigers were Keniel Ortiz with 2 points, and Breckin Christner with 1 point.

The Tigers had strong rebounding nights from Christner with 4, and also Randall with 4. Christner also had 4 big steals.
