One driver was airlifted while the second was transported by EMS to area hospitals following a two-vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon. According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department crash report, a vehicle driven by Dennis D. Miller, 71, New Haven, was sitting off the east side of south Ind. 15, near the intersection of West CR 600S, Claypool, facing north with his four-way flashers on. Miller said he checked his mirror and did not see any northbound traffic and attempted a U-turn, taking him into the path of a second vehicle, driven by Cassie S. Swihart, 61, South Merry Estates Drive, Silver Lake. Miller was airlifted to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, to be treated for pain in his abdomen and pelvis. Swihart was transported by EMS to Kosciusko Community Hospital to be treated for pain in her lower arm. Damage was estimated at between $2,500 and $5,000.
