Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department will host a fly fishing workshop May 17 from 9 a.m. to noon.
The workshop will be provided by instructor and fly fishing enthusiast Charlie Ray. Participants will learn basic fly fishing techniques, casting, how to choose fly rods and fly lines, safety and etiquette, and more. Each person also will join the instructor for basic fly tying, where basic knots and bugs will be taught. All equipment will be provided by the instructor.
The cost is $15 per person, and the minimum age is 11. Pre-registration is required by May 14. Those interested may register in person at the Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department office, 117 E. Canal St., next to Center Lake Beach; or by downloading a registration form from the website and sending it in with payment. If the morning session fills up, an afternoon overflow session will be offered from 1 to 4 p.m.
