MENTONE – A Mentone man was arrested Thursday for battery resulting in bodily injury to a public official, battery to his 15-year-old daughter and resisting law enforcement.
Scott R. Blevins, 36, of 513 N. Morgan St., Mentone, was arrested at 12:57 p.m. Thursday on a warrant from an Aug. 21 incident and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on a $4,000 bond. His wife, Lisa Blevins, 43, of the same address, was booked at the same time on a charge of resisting arrest during the incident, with no bond amount set yet.
According to Jim Eads, Mentone town marshal, Central Dispatch received a 911 call Aug. 21 at 5 p.m. from a female who was living in the Blevins’ residence at the time.
The woman reported she had witnessed Blevins battering his 15-year-old daughter at the residence.
Mentone Police Department responded to Blevins’ residence after receiving the eyewitness statement from the woman who reported the battery.
Blevins resisted arrest when the Mentone officer responded to the scene, according to police, and the officer sustained an injury to his right thumb while attempting to detain Blevins.
Blevins’ daughter complained of injuries to her head and was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital.
Scott complained of chest pain and also was transported to KCH.
Warrants were issued for Scott and Lisa Blevins, and they voluntarily turned themselves in following the hospitalization.
The incidents are still under investigation.
