Several candidates on local ballots have received the endorsement of the Indiana Fraternal Order of Police.
According to the FOP, “Nov. 4, you have an opportunity to elect some very qualified candidates to office.  It is critical to the State FOP effort's at the State House to elect friend's of the FOP.  In our efforts to pass legislation that will enhance our profession we need your help to elect those candidates at the state and national levels.  The (political action committee) and legislative committee have spent a considerable amount of time endorsing the candidates that share our ideals and who will back FOP bills.
“On behalf of the 14,000 members of the Indiana State Fraternal Order of Police, we are pleased to report to you that our State Lodge has voted to endorse the following candidates.”
U.S. Rep.:
District 2 – Jackie Walorski, R.
District 3 – Marlin Stutzman, R.
Indiana State Senator:
District 17 – Joe Banks, R.
Indiana State Rep.:
District 18 – Dave Wolkins, R.
District 22 – David Kolbe, D.
District 23 – William Friend, R.
Kolbe, commenting on his endorsement, said, "I am honored and humbled to receive this endorsement. The men and women of law enforcement serve us with honor and bravery. If elected to the legislature I will bear in mind their great sacrifices and endeavor to serve in the same manner."
