SILVER LAKE – A fire broke out at a vacant Silver Lake home Sunday morning.
John Conley, Silver Lake assistant fire chief, said that at approximately 6 a.m. Sunday, firefighters from Silver Lake Fire Department were called by a passerby who reported  the fire at 10978 S. CR 450W, Silver Lake.
According to county records, the house is owned by Secretary Of Housing & Urban Development, c/o Connor and Boul Michaelson, 4400 Will Rogers Pkwy. #300, Oklahoma City, Okla.
Silver Lake, Burket and Claypool fire departments responded to the scene.
Conley said there was major interior damage to the home with every room in the home burned, and ceilings were gone with the exception of boards above the rafters. There also was minor exterior damage.
It took firefighters an hour to get the fire under control, Conley said.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated by Squad 70.
