    For the third straight year, the annual Polar Bear Plunge on Lake Tippecanoe was a fantastic success. Even though the number of bears taking the plunge was slightly down, we were able to include the Food Bank of Syracuse in addition to our support of the North Webster facility.

    The Thirteenth Annual Coat Drive to benefit people in our community who are in need of warm winter wear was a huge success.

    This is the perfect time of year to thank those special people who helped us provide services to seniors in Kosciusko County. Without those wonderful volunteers we could not have delivered more than 35,000 hot, frozen, holiday and emergency meals to our seniors in the past year.

    I recently attended the free dinner for veterans,  put on by  the  Calvary Tabernacle of Warsaw, and just wanted to say how much I, and many others I’m sure, appreciated the fine meal they provided.

    We had a tragic loss on Sept. 7 when our son William Wells was killed. He had such a full life and was so loved. We have had such an outpour of love, generosity and compassion from so many people.
