GOSHEN – Mary I. Weldy, 85, Goshen, passed away at 9:25 a.m. April 21, 2014, at Greencroft Healthcare, Goshen.
She was born Sept. 19, 1928, in North Baltimore, Ohio, to Joseph H. and Naomi M. Rider Whetsel. She married Dewey Weldy, who preceded her in death March 4, 1993.
She graduated in 1946 from North Baltimore High School. She moved to Goshen in 1976 from Fort Wayne. She was formerly employed at Goshen Parks Department; Barth Manufacturing, Milford, for 20 years; Ray Eberhard attorney in Goshen; and Dee Russell & Spahn Attorneys, Elkhart. She was a member of the Sugar Grove Church, Goshen.
Surviving are three sons: Michael (and spouse Shirley) and Bradford Miller, all of Elkhart; and Stephen (and spouse Melissa) Miller, Stevensville, Mich.; and three grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Lloyd Whetsel; and an infant twin sister.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sugar Grove Church of the Brethren, 58512 Old CR 17, Goshen, IN 46528, with Pastor Cary Perdue, former pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will take place in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
Calling is from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
