Lance D. Knoop, 54, Warsaw, passed away at 7:03 a.m. Aug. 20, 2014, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 2, 1960, in Warsaw to Burl and Louise Waite Knoop. In Florida he married Crystal Michelle Roberts, who died Feb. 2, 2008.
He served in the U.S. Army and the National Guard from 1979-1990. He worked as a self-employed journeyman.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Knoop Myers (and her companion Barbie Torres), Warsaw; two sons, Lance D. Knoop II, Elkhart, and Michael J. Knoop, Warsaw; two grandchildren, Damen C. Myers and Kailalynn E. Myers; his mother, Goshen; four brothers: Anthony D. Knoop and Kent J. Knoop, both of South Bend; Brian K. (and spouse Heather) Knoop, Leesburg; and Mark A. Knoop, Louisville, Ky.; three nephews; and three nieces. He was also preceded in death by his father and his brother, Brent Knoop.
A celebration of life will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at American Legion Post #49, Warsaw. Military Honors will be provided at 3 p.m. Saturday by the American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126, Warsaw.
