SYRACUSE – Gladys L. Prescott, 96, Syracuse, passed away Aug. 9, 2014, in Kosciusko Community Hospital.
She was born June 20, 1918, in Warsaw, to John and Esther Auten Hill. She was married Oct. 15, 1940, to Charles Prescott, who preceded her in death in 2012.
She earned her bachelor of science degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. She, along with her husband, taught school in Alaska for over 20 years, retiring in Soldotna in 1978. She was a lifelong member of the Nazarene Church. She was also a member of the Alaska Retired Teachers Association. She and her husband moved from Alaska to Diamond Lake in 1992, then to Syracuse in 1997.
She is survived by her many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by three brothers.
Services will be at noon Friday at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, Ligonier.
Calling is for two hours prior to service at the funeral home.
