AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley’s varsity baseball team got back to .500 with a 5-4 win over the visiting Peru Tigers Wednesday evening.
The Vikings, who tallied eight hits in the win, are now 4-4 on the season.
Drake Hyden earned his first pitching win of the season for Valley, working seven innings, striking out seven and walking two.
Offensively, Garrett Bell was 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs, while Jarred Littlejohn had two hits and two runs.
Luke Helton hit the game-winning single, allowing pinch runner Alec Craig to score from second base with the help of a fielding error by Peru’s leftfielder.
Valley is in again today in game at South Bend Adams and will host Taylor in a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.
