ROCHESTER — The Bremen girls golf team posted two victories at Rochester Wednesday, defeating Tippecanoe Valley and Triton.
Played at Round Barn Golf Club, the Bremen Lady Lions finished with a 227, followed by host Valley’s 262, while Triton didn’t have a team score, as Lillie Berger had to withdraw, leaving the team with only three players.
Despite not having a full team, Triton did have the low score of the evening, as Hannah Jennings posted a 42.
From Valley, Liz VanMeter led the way with a 50, followed by Victoria Biddle’s 56, Blake McBrier’s 73 and Jade VanMeter’s 83.
Valley is at North Manchester’s Sycamore Golf Club today to face host Manchester, as well as North Miami and Whitko.
Triton is also back on the course today, hosting John Glenn and Knox at Rozella Ford Golf Club in Warsaw.

Wednesday in Elkhart
Opening Northern Lakes Conference play at Elkhart’s Christiana Creek Golf Club Wednesday, the Wawasee girls golf team defeated Plymouth and host Elkhart Memorial. Wawasee improved its season record to 10-0 by shooting a 182, while Plymouth had a 200 and Memorial finished with a 251 on its home course. Wawasee’s Kylee Rostochak shot a 42 to get medalist honors. Also from Wawasee, Elizabeth Jackson and Mikala Mawhorter each shot a 45, Aubrey Schmeltz posted a 50 and Kamryn Foy carded a 51. Wawasee hosts another two NLC teams Tuesday at Maxwelton Golf Club in Syracuse, as Warsaw and Concord visit.

Wednesday in Rochester
The Whitko girls soccer team suffered a 4-1 loss at Rochester Wednesday. Riley Insley supplied the Whitko Lady Wildcats’ goal, while Ilyssa Bennett had 17 saves in goal. The 0-3 Lady Wildcats will face North Miami at Saturday’s Manchester Invitational.

Wednesday in Bourbon
Opening its Northern State Conference season at home against Knox Wednesday, the Triton boys tennis team lost 3-2. Gavin Eads posted a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles for Triton, which had its other victory come at No. 1 doubles, where Austin Sellers and Alex Eib were 7-5, 7-6 (5) victors. The Triton Trojans have another NSC match Tuesday at LaVille.

Tuesday in Argos
The newly-formed Tippecanoe Valley High School soccer club team picked up its first victory Tuesday at Argos, defeating the Dragons junior varsity team 2-1. The Vikings now sit at 1-2 on the year, having lost 6-0 to Plymouth’s JV and 9-0 against Warsaw’s JV team. In their victory, Valley got goals from Ivan Santiago and Rafael Jimenez. Valley travels to Goshen today to face Bethany Christian’s JV.
