NORTH MANCHESTER — Opting to take to the Sycamore Golf Club course in lieu of Tuesday’s rainy weather, the host Manchester girls golf team defeated Triton 212-233.
Triton’s Hannah Jennings shot the low score of the day, posting a 45 on the par-36 course, followed closely by Manchester’s Claire Barnett, who recorded a 46.
Along with Barnett’s score, Manchester also received a 54 from Rachel Cave, 56s from Lydia Little and Erin Working, as well as a 57 and 59 out of Madison Hire and Gabbi Wilcox, respectively.
From Triton, Lillie Berger carded a 60, Tessa Heaton a 61 and Kayla Kreft a 67.
Triton gets back on the course today, traveling to Rochester’s Round Barn Golf Club at Mill Creek to face Tippecanoe Valley and Bremen, and Manchester’s next match is Thursday at Sycamore against Tippecanoe Valley, Whitko and North Miami.

Tuesday in Syracuse
Getting wins from Cal Heinisch and Nate Perek at Nos. 1 and 3 singles, respectively, as well as its No. 1 doubles team of Jake Hutchinson and Todd Hauser, the Wawasee boys tennis team got a 3-2 home win over Central Noble Tuesday. Heinisch was a 6-1, 7-5 victor, Perek won 6-1, 6-2 and Hutchinson and Hauser cruised 6-1, 6-1. The win improves the Warriors to 2-1 going into Thursday’s home match against West Noble.

At home against Central Noble Tuesday, the Wawasee volleyball team pushed its season record to 4-4 with a three-game sweep, 25-21, 27-25, 25-19. In the win, Alli Ousley had a team-high 20 assists, Addison Ayres recorded seven kills and Aly Anderson posted 23 digs. The Lady Warriors are at Bethany Christian Thursday.

In defeat, Elaine Warner had a team-high 27 assists and Maddie Gawthrop posted 35 digs, while Tressa Keim led the way with nine kills. The Lady Wildcats open Three Rivers Conference play Thursday at Manchester.
