The Warsaw softball team rallied to get its Northern Lakes Conference season off to a 2-0 start Monday at the Tigers Complex.
Hosting Goshen, Warsaw found itself down 5-0 going into the bottom of the sixth, where it got one run back.
Still trailing 5-1 going into the bottom of the seventh, the Lady Tigers plated five runs, getting the 6-5 victory.
Karly Jones was 2 for 2 in the win, hitting a double and driving in two runs, while Kaleigh Speicher was 2 for 4 with an RBI and double.
Whitney Sleeth was the winning pitcher, coming in relief to pitch the final three innings, striking out four of the 10 batters she faced.
The 2-4 (2-0 NLC) Lady Tigers look to pick up their third conference home win of the week Friday against Plymouth.

The Wawasee softball team picked up a dominating 14-1 Northern Lakes Conference home win over Elkhart Memorial Wednesday night. Pitcher Amber Lemberg had six strikeouts and allowed four hits in five innings of work, while Alexia Graber went 2 for 2 with four RBIs, a double and a triple. Also for Wawasee, Alli Ousley, Kylee Rostochak and  Meghan Fretz had two hits each. The 6-2 (1-1 NLC) Lady Warriors play their third conference game of the week Friday at NorthWood.

Vying for it’s first ever Northern State Conference title, the Triton softball team got the quest off to a 2-0 start following Wednesday’s 5-3 victory at John Glenn. Mallorie Jennings got the complete-game victory, striking out 10, while her sister Hannah Jennings had four hits and two RBIs. The 6-1 Lady Trojans host Manchester today.
