WINONA LAKE — The Lakeland Christian Academy boys basketball team closed out its home season with a 48-32 win over Howe School Tuesday night.
Improving to 2-18 on the season, the LCA Cougars shook off a two-point first quarter to outscore Howe 12-9 in the second quarter.
Leading 14-11 at the half, LCA began to create some distance in the third, winning the quarter 14-7 and gaining control.
Senior Chris Silveus led LCA with 21 points, followed by senior Cody Kline’s 11 and sophomore Connor Blum’s nine.
Also for the Cougars, sophomore Carter Twombly had 12 rebounds and three steals to go with six points.
The Cougars close out their regular season Friday at the South Bend Career Academy (2-16).

Tuesday in Wabash
The Whitko boys basketball team wrapped up its Three Rivers Conference season with a 71-43 loss at Northfield Tuesday night. The defeat ends Whitko’s TRC campaign at 0-7, and drops the Wildcats to 1-18 overall. Up next for Whitko is a trip to Class 3A No. 5 NorthWood (17-2) Friday night.
