WINONA LAKE — To cap off a remarkable week for Samantha Johnson, the Grace College freshman was named the NCCAA National Softball Player of the Week.
Johnson batted .706 over six games last week, which included 12 hits in 17 at-bats. She doubled three times and drove in seven runs, posting an .882 slugging percentage and a .772 on-base percentage.
Additionally, she did not make a fielding error in nine opportunities while managing Grace's center field.
For the season, Johnson is batting .326. She has a team-best .404 average in league competition.
