Nina McGeehan and her certified therapy dog Nakita are now available at Kosciusko Community Hospital. Nakita received his canine good citizen certificate and community canine certificate through the American Kennel Club, and earned his therapy dog certification through Therapy Dogs International.  The benefits of therapy dog programs include improved morale for patients and staff members, increased socialization or communication between patients and staff, and many other potential positive outcomes, according to the hospital’s announcement. Nina and Nakita are available for visits to appropriate areas of the hospital on Thursday afternoons from 1 to 3 p.m.  For more information call 574-372-7677.
