The “Coyotes for Charity” hunters from Miami, Wabash, Fulton, Kosciusko, Grant, Howard, Marshall, Carroll, Cass and Huntington counties have harvested 310 coyotes this past season.
The coyote pelts were prepared for auction by Larry Frank, Macy, and Terry Manley who is a U.S. receiving agent for North American Fur Auctions in Toronto, Canada where the pelts were sent. This is the eleventh year for the event which started in 2004 with four hunters harvesting five coyotes to 2014 with more than 120 hunters harvesting 310 coyotes. Money raised is matched by the Square D Foundation through the Relay For Life Campaign and also matched by Miami County residents. All money raised is donated to American Cancer Society.
