PACKERTON – A camper that caught fire late Tuesday night in Packerton has left one man dead.
Sidney Fire Department got called around midnight to 8031 S. Thomas Drive, Packerton, for a fully-engulfed camper fire. The camper was parked in a yard next to a mobile home, Sidney Fire Chief Luke Rockwell said.
“It was basically gone when we got there,” he said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the state fire marshal’s office.
Kosciusko County Coroner Tony Ciriello would only confirm one man is deceased and said he cannot release the man’s name until his identity is confirmed.
Pierceton Fire Department assisted at the scene.
